The IIMT Group of Colleges' founding society is the Association of Management Studies (AMS), which was founded in 1994 by seven visionary Rotarians. The first college in Meerut that was approved by the AICTE was built by AMS, which has since grown into a comprehensive educational group with multiple colleges, schools, and a hospital.

By establishing IIMT University, a state-owned private university in Uttar Pradesh, AMS furthered its mission driven by a commitment to providing high-quality education in a variety of fields.
